We finally went to the Italian Kitchen in Vero Beach (having seen it a hundred times).
Pros:Our mixed salad had the best homemade ranch dressing I have ever had! I had spaghetti with meat sauce. It truly was made to order. The sauce was excellent. It was not sweet -- thank goodness! It had that hint of bitter flavor that my Gambino, Inuzzi, and Nardoni relatives strive for in their sauces. (Start with tomato paste and fry it until it smokes -- and then some.) The pasta was fresh cooked and perfectly al dente. And the price was right.Cons:Unbelievably -- the chef broke the pasta into thirds or quarters before cooking. It was like eating forkfuls of inch worms. There was no twirling (which is half the fun). I let the waitress know what the chef was doing. (She was surprised.) I'll go back, but I'll make it clear that the chef had better not do that again!
